Today’s item comes from London brand Hell Bunny by Popsoda.
Called the “Forever Dead” print, it features motifs of green-skinned, red-lipped zombie girls in pinup poses alongside blood-stained, undead swallows; white stars; hollow bows; and bright red stitched-up broken hearts dripping – you guessed it – blood.
The cute puffy cap-sleeves are gathered and elasticated across the top, only pinching a little after a day’s wear.
Star-shaped buttons march from the waist-tie all the way up to the neckline with its rounded peter-pan collar, though they’re positioned so that I either showed my entire (small) chest or nothing at all.
The cotton-elastine fabric is medium weight and unlined, performing well on a hot day. Hell Bunny design their own fabric in-house, though it’s made and sewn in China.
I’m wearing a size Small in the picture and the shirt is fitted nicely. The cropped length sits at the bottom of my waist and is the perfect height for giving the odd flash of skin above high-waisted bottoms.
I purchased this second-hand and I’m very pleased with it. While this exact top is no longer available from Hell Bunny, the Suki Tie Top (£19.99) has a very similar cut and the Zombie Diner collection offers a cap-sleeve top (£18.99), swing skirt (£18.99) and halter-neck swing dress (£41.99) to fulfill your unnatural hunger for zombie print.
